The Spring Creek Boy Scouts and leaders headed up to higher ground in our beautiful Logan Canyon. The weather is turning colder, which permits for vibrant fall colors all around. They drove into the canyon and hiked up two miles with all of their gear to a nice spot to set up camp. There, they made a fire to warm up and cook their dinners. The night started to grow darker and the boys played night games. All was going well until a rock bit Turner Ashton. He unfortunately took a tumble while playing and fell hard into a large rock, which injured a large part of his leg below the knee. He was in bad shape and hurt badly. The troop helped comfort him as his leaders tended to the wound and carried him down to the vehicles below. He met his mom at the Emergency room where he received treatment as well as multiple stitches. Not a good start for his first camp out with the troop. The boys felt so bad for him and hope that it won't keep him from future camp outs. It's a hard lesson to learn for anyone, to always work and play with caution of our surroundings. Get well soon Turner.
The rest of the camp went on as planned. They each slept in their tents during a chilly night. As they woke up, they were fed a delicious breakfast and then ventured on their hike up to Jardine Juniper where they ate their lunches. They then hiked back down, packed up and finished their hike back to the bottom. They all made some memories on this campout/ hike for sure. Thanks to the leaders that invest so much of their time and knowledge on behalf of our boys.

The Rock that bit Turner :(
